• Question: why is the sea only blue when its all together?

      This is not really my area. The sky is blue because the light is ‘scattered’ around. Can you imagine if the sea was bright red or purple? How weird would that be?!

      The ocean is blue because water absorbs colors in the red part of the light spectrum. Like a filter, this leaves behind colors in the blue part of the light spectrum for us to see.
