• Question: who is your idol? did they inspire you to enter the scientific world?

      I admired my lecturers at university, Brian Cox is quite good too. I loved the subject though as it made sense to me.

      I admire Charles Darwin. He described the theory of evolution and fundamentally changed the way humans view themselves. Even though he met fierce resistance from the church he persisted and this theory is the basis of so much of our knowledge.

      Rosalind Franklin – she was the first to discover the structure of DNA. She didn’t inspire me to go into science, though. I didn’t even know about here when I made the decision. What inspired me to go into science was the fact that I enjoyed it, I was good at it and that any discovery I might make would benefit the human race.
