I liked science but only did single science GCSE. I then decided to do A level chemistry which was hard but I did alright in the end. I also did A level Geography and English so science was just one subject in a mixture.

I enjoyed science at school but didn’t really think about being as scientist until it came to choosing what degree I wanted to do. I wasn’t even sure I wanted to be a scientist after I finished my degree. I got a job in a lab the year I finished my degree to see what it was really like. It was then that I found out that I actually really enjoyed it and I haven’t looked back since.

I knew I enjoyed science, but I didn’t really have a good understanding of what a scientist was until I has finished my university degree. So I hope you all get a good understanding of what sort of work us scientists do so you can think about becoming a scientist at a much earlier stage.
