Good question. The skin cells need several things to remain healthy. They need nutrients, which we provide in a liquid form. They need to be kept at the right temperature, pH and humidity (37 degrees, pH7, 5% carbon dioxide). Like people, they also need to be kept at the right density, they do not like it if they are too crowded, or to lonely. Most of all they need attention and love from a researcher. We often come in on weekends and at night to look after and feed the cells.
