There is currently a crew of 6 astronauts on the International Space Station: Dan Burbank and Don Pettit from NASA, Russian cosmonauts Oleg Kononenko, Anton Shkaplerov and Anatoly Ivanishin; and European Space Agency astronaut Andre Kuipers.

NASA is planning a mission to the International Space Station on 15th July this year. The crew will consist of another 6 astronauts: Sunita Williams and Joseph Acaba from NASA, Akihiko Hoshide of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency and Yuri Malenchenko, Gennady Padalka and Sergei Revin of the Russian Federal Space Agency. They should return to Earth some time in November 2012.

We have had a continuous presence in space on the international space station (ISS) since 1998. Astronauts from multiple countries have lived continuously on the ISS for over 11 years, staying 6 or more months at a time.
