• Question: When lightning strikes the sea, why don't all of the fish die?

      It is possible for lightning to kill some unlucky fish in the sea, however as water is a conductor of electricity the power is transferred through billions of liters of water so the total shock the fish would receive is very small.

      A few fish would die but not many, they would have to be close to the point of impact. I’d not suggest swimming in a storm just in case 😉
