• Question: What do you do to regain taste after burning your tounge?

      The taste buds are in a constant state of receptor cell turnover, cells in the taste buds last a couple of weeks, if you have actually damaged the buds themselves then you have to wait for the nerve to innervate them.
      If you really have managed to do some damage you’ll probably be ok in 7~14 days.

      Your tongue has taste buds for different tastes in different areas. The tip of your tongue has taste buds for salty and sweet tastes, the sides are covered in buds for sour tastes and the back for bitter tastes. The middle has few taste buds. So, you’ll use the taste for certain flavours depending on what bit of your tongue you burn – the middle seems the best place!
