  I think bracken only causes cancer in humans and some livestock. Dinosaurs may have had genes to prevent the carcinogens from being formed during digestion. However, Dinosaurs suffered from cancer too.

  Young bracken stems are edible and used a lot in Chinese, Japanese and Korean cuisine. Older parts of the plant do seem to be linked with stomach cancer. Bracken is poisonous to many mammals, but a lot of insects do eat it. I’m not sure how bracken is digested but it may be that dinosaurs were able to break down the carcinogenic components…
