This is a great question and it’s hard to make a choice.
I think I’d choose Galileo – he was among the first real scientists and I would love to see his reaction and hear his thoughts on all the advances we’ve made and the equipment we use now in science. A LOT has changed in the 400 years since he died… 🙂
I agree that we should bring back Galileo, he would have a big shock when seeing how far we have advanced. On the other hand we still use all of the laws and ideas that Einstein thought of, so he might be a bit disappointed at the moment. Lets bring him back when we have progressed a bit more.
I would choose Einstein as I think if he was alive now he would come up with even more ideas to explain a lot of things we still don’t understand. Although Galileo was a great guy he would need a lot of time to catch up with the world knowledge today!
If you were to bring back Galileo the changes in technology and society would be devastating to him, also consider that everyone he ever knew would be long dead and buried and everywhere he had ever gone would be alien to him. I wouldn’t be surprised if he committed suicide.
Einstein on the other hand is much more familiar with modern society and science and we would not have to raise him like a baby so that he could live a normal life. Plus Einstein might actually speak English.
