• Question: I have seen a programme on the television where a man has developed a "skin gun" for medical purposes in battle, the gun uses stem cells wich are sprayed onto severe burns, were you involoved in any of the research for this? Do you think this is a good device to use in military situations? Also do you test on animals, if so is this for burns or other skin related injuries wich they would benefit from? regards, ellie.

Hi Ellie, good questions. I was not involved in the “skin gun” project, in fact they are probably our main competition. Our printer is better then theirs because we first use a high resolution scanner to accurately measure the size and depth of the wound and then print different types of skin cells depending on the depth of the wound. This means that the skin grows back faster and will have the same colour and same amount of hair as before you were wounded. Our printer would be great for the military as so many soldiers are wounded by roadside bombs in Iraq and Afghanistan.
