Melancholy is just another word for depression or feeling sad. Most of the time it is caused by events that have made you feel sad. Sometimes they are a result of a chemical imbalance. Either way, there are many good treatments for melancholy – some of them involve talking to someone about what’s making you feel sad and some of them involve drugs that make you feel better or sort out the chemical imbalance.
