When we are very young, blood formation occurs in the spleen, liver and lymph nodes. When we get older and bone marrow develops, it eventually assumes the task of forming most of the blood cells for the entire organism.
Blood can be made by our body and we make as much as we need so that is why when we donate blood it is soon replaced and we recover. Well, unless we lose two much and then we can’t recover!
